How to Rock Classic Lashes That Look a Bit More Full

As we all know, lashes can make or ruin a look. It just doesn't look as good if your lashes appear flat, even if you have the best foundation, the fringe or the killer lippy. Because of this, many of us are constantly searching for the ideal lash appearance—traditional lashes that give your eyes a "I woke up like this" look while yet seeming natural.

There is a thin line between clumpy and elegant, as anybody who has ever experimented with strip lashes at home or sat in a lash chair knows. So, how can you achieve longer, yet classic-looking lashes without going too far into drag queen territory on a Friday night? (That's OK, but not everyone wants to show off their showgirl glitter at work, isn't that right?) Let's dissect it.

1. Know What “Classic” Actually Means

One extension put to one of your natural lashes is known as a "classic lash." That's all. Elegant, timeless, and uncomplicated. They are intended to resemble mascara without the smudge, not to be extremely thick or dramatic. The trick is that if your lash technician is astute, they can adjust the length, curl, and style to give you additional fullness while maintaining the "classic" look.

Think of it as a somewhat more flattering version of your skinny jeans, but with a straight-leg shape.

2. Go for a Stronger Curl

Ask your lash technician for a curlier lash if you want a fuller look without using real volume fans. Without adding more lashes, a C or D curl can make your eyes appear thicker and open up your eyes. Similar to how curling your hair makes it appear as though you have twice as much, nothing has changed.

3. Mix Up the Lengths

This is where the magic takes place. It may appear flat and noticeable if all of the lashes are the same length. However, your lashes seem naturally bigger if you stagger a variety of lengths (longer on the ends for a cat-eye or longer in the middle for a doe-eyed look). It provides dimension and flair with little work, much like layering clothing.

4. Choose a Darker Lash Line

To generate a denser lash line, some lash technicians will perform a technique known as "lash mapping." By arranging the extensions closer together, you can create the illusion of eyeliner without really drawing it on, even if you're going with the basics. Having that delicate liner effect when you wake up? The chef's kiss.

5. Don’t Skip Aftercare

Look, if you're going to pick at your new set or go to sleep with your makeup from the previous night still on, there's no use in spending the money. Use a good lash wash to clean them, brush them every day, and keep oil-based cosmetics away from them. If you don't take care of your lashes, you'll be sporting gaps within a week, which isn't the appearance you want.

6. Consider Hybrid Lashes as a Cheat

Hybrids might be the solution if you truly want the best of both worlds. They are essentially a hybrid of volume and classic lashes, giving you little pockets of more fluff along with a natural, wispy look. Ideal if you want fullness but don't want to go crazy with volume.

Traditional eyelashes don't have to be dull. You can get a fuller, more attractive look without sacrificing that natural feel by making a few small adjustments, such as using the proper curl, a creative lash map, and proper aftercare. Consider it similar to getting the ideal blow-dry for your eyes: it's bouncy, polished, and gives you that feminine vibe.

Therefore, larger classics are a hit whether you're going to the office, having breakfast with the girls, or just appearing put together when you're out for coffee. Just keep them clean, trust your lash technician, and don't be afraid to ask for what you want.
