Making the Most of Your Lash Adhesive: Tips for Flawless, Long-Lasting Extensions

Even the most accomplished lash artist is aware that the glue, often known as "lash adhesive," may make or ruin the final appearance when it comes to eyelash extensions. Beautiful, fluttery lashes that last for weeks or ones that begin to fall out after a few days can be achieved with the correct adhesive applied correctly.

1. Store It Like It’s Liquid Gold 

Your lash glue has some environmental preferences. It should be kept out of direct sunlight, dry, and cold. Moisture may be effectively kept out using a special airtight container or even a little zip-seal bag filled with silica gel packs. If you don't want to deal with moisture and adhesive that acts erratic, don't keep it in the refrigerator. 

2. Shake It Like You Mean It

Give the bottle a vigorous shake for 30 to 60 seconds before each use. This ensures that every item is well combined. Retention problems might result from improperly shaken glue, and no one wants lashes that appear flimsy after a few days. 

3. Mind the Temperature and Humidity

Adhesives are delicate substances. If the humidity is too high, they cure too soon; if it is too low, they take an eternity to set. A sweet spot for the majority of lash glues is between 20 and 24°C and 40 and 60% humidity. You may avoid a lot of guessing by keeping a basic hygrometer at your desk. 

4. Use Fresh Drops Regularly

Avoid leaving your adhesive on the glue ring or jade stone for an extended period of time. During visits, the majority of lash technicians change their glue every 15 to 20 minutes. Old droplets quickly lose their stickiness, so you'll have to put in more effort to get the same results.

5. Replace It Before It Retires Itself

Even unopened glue has a limited shelf life. Try to replace it every four to six weeks after it is opened. It thickens, gets stringy, and just doesn't bind as well with time. You wouldn't want to offer it past its best-before date, just as with milk. 

6. Keep Lashes Clean Before Application

Makeup, oil, and even natural debris might prevent the glue from adhering correctly. Retention is significantly improved by thoroughly cleaning with a lash-safe cleaner prior to application.

7. Listen to Your Clients’ Feedback 

Don't discount your clients' complaints of more frequent shedding than normal. It can indicate that your adhesive isn't working as effectively as it should, whether as a result of ageing, storage problems, or changes in the atmosphere in your salon.
