Best Cleanup Steps After Lash Patch Removal

 1. Gently Remove the Patches

  • Supporting the skin to avoid pulling, peel from the outside corner inward.
  • To make removal easier, moisten the patch a little with sterile water or saline if it is sticky or pulling.
2. Wipe Away Residue

  • Use a cotton round soaked in micellar water or sterile saline solution (for sensitive skin) or a lint-free pad.
  • Wipe gently beneath the eye to get rid of:
    • Gel residue
    • Traces of adhesives
    • Moisture accumulation or skin oils
Pro tip: Avoid oil-based removers near the lash line if lash extensions will be applied afterward.

3. Soothe the Skin (If Needed)
  • For two to five minutes, use a cold compress if the skin seems dry or red.
  • Consider softly applying an aloe vera gel or a calming, fragrance-free eye lotion to customers who are sensitive (but only if no lash glue will be used thereafter).
4. Dry and Prep the Area
  • Pat dry the area beneath the eyes with a clean, dry pad free of lint.
  • Before applying the lashes or before the client departs, make sure the skin is totally dry.

5. Check for Reactions

Watch for indications of annoyance such as:
  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Too much tearing
Treat as necessary (cold compress, halt treatment, suggest medical follow-up if necessary) if present.

6. Document and Sanitize
  • Any skin reaction or product sensitivity should be noted in the client file.
  • Make sure to properly dispose of discarded gloves, eyelash pads, and patches.
  • Before doing anything else (like applying cosmetics or lash extensions), wash your hands and your utensils.

Optional: Client Touch-Up

Offer to refresh the under-eye area with a gentle, soothing eye mist or hydrating serum before the client leaves.
